How we got here

Our Story

At The Cross Fellowship started with a question, a season of prayer, and a fight to simply gather. Here's how it happened.

September 2017

Called to plant

Rev. Tim Rogers led a study around one question: "Did God call us to plant a church?" Six months of Bible study and weekly prayer followed before the church's official launch.

March 18, 2018

Official launch

At The Cross Fellowship officially launched with 27 charter members, meeting at 1617 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC.

Spring 2018

A fight for religious liberty

The City of Monroe enacted zoning restrictions that excluded churches from the fellowship's property. Through Alliance Defending Freedom, At The Cross Fellowship filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Monroe on the basis of defending religious liberty.

July 2018

Zoning reversed

The Monroe City Council reversed its zoning decision, clearing the way for the fellowship to keep gathering.

Today
